About the event
This workshop will be led by Zhu Run, a Master of Psychology from Peking University, a Certified Teacher in Washington State, and the City of Bellevue Cultural Outreach Assistant. She has been learning calligraphy and Chinese painting since childhood. She is good at combining art, psychology, and education. Art therapy, wandering between color and line, exploring the language and power of artistic expression.

Lacquer Fan Painting is recognized as an innovative form of lacquer craftsmanship, an important part of China's intangible cultural heritage. Lacquer, a natural resin extracted from lacquer trees, has been used in China for thousands of years, making it the earliest known country to utilize this material. Archaeological evidence suggests that lacquerware first appeared in China around 8,000 years ago.
